Process/Takeaways

This assignment was really my first experience with making an actual coherent film, with a point rather than a meaningless interview or plushie. My main roles were brainstorming ideas, drawing the storyboard, and asking the interview questions. These things gave me more experience with things I had practiced in earlier assignments. We had to accomodate our original idea quite a bit throughout the process as things proved impossible to do. We originally wanted to actually go to mountain campus to film B-roll and interview the mountain campus director. We also planned on both Quinn and Louisa being the hosts. In the end, we weren't able to make it to mountain campus, but we changed the idea to filming mountain campus alumni, and it ended up fine. It was a valuable experience for me to be able to work with others on a project as a team, and everyone had their own roles that came together in the end to form the final product. I tend to like to do these kinds of things on my own to ensure it comes out exactly as I imagine it to, but I now see that other ideas are necessary to produce a good final product. In the end, we didn't make an award winning masterpiece, but it's coherent and easy to follow, which I feel like is a great first step into making better films later on.
